working principle:


The working principle of transformer is electromagnetic induction. The transformer has two coils. Primary and secondary coils. The secondary coil is outside the primary coil. When the primary coil is energized with alternating current, the transformer core generates alternating magnetic field, and the secondary coil generates induced electromotive force. The turn ratio of the transformer coil is equal to the voltage ratio.

For example, when the primary coil is 500 turns and the secondary coil is 250 turns, the primary coil is energized with 220V AC, and the secondary voltage is 110V. The transformer can be step-down or step-up. If the number of turns of the primary coil is less than that of the secondary coil, it is a step-up transformer, which can raise the low voltage to high voltage.
