In 2018, the output of transformers nationwide rebounded to approximately 1.76 billion kVA, an increase of 10.67% over 2017.
The downward pressure on the economy has increased the sales revenue of the transformer industry by more than 10%.
From 2015 to 2019, the sales revenue of my country's transformer industry fluctuates. Since 2017, the sales revenue of my country's transformer industry has shown negative growth. In 2018, affected by factors such as intensified Sino-US trade frictions and increasing downward pressure on the economy, the transformer market demand shrank, and the sales revenue of my country's transformer industry was 465.5 billion yuan, a decrease of 14.98% from 2017. But in 2019, sales revenue is expected to be 4784, an increase of 2.7% from 2018.
Fierce competition within the transformer industry
From the perspective of corporate competition, China’s transformer industry is highly competitive. Among my country’s transformer manufacturing companies, there are nearly 30 manufacturers of transformers above 500kV; about 50 companies with 220kV and above; about 130 companies with a certain scale of 110kV and below , The market structure tends to stabilize.
Chinese transformer companies can be divided into four camps
The first camp: It is composed of several major multinational corporations such as ABB, AREVA, Siemens, Toshiba, etc., occupying 20%-30% of the market share;
The second camp: large domestic enterprises such as Baobian, TBEA, and Xibian have increased the technical level and level of their products to occupy 30%-40% of the market share;
The third camp: manufacturing companies represented by Jiangsu Huapeng Transformer Co., Ltd., Qingdao Qingbo Transformer Co., Ltd., Shunte Electric Co., Ltd., Shandong Dach Electric Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Qianjiang Electric Group Co., Ltd., etc. have formed the third camp;
Fourth camp: Many private enterprises have formed a certain market share due to flexible operating mechanisms and no unproductive burdens, forming the fourth camp.

Due to the overall economic downturn and the external environment in 2018, the sales revenue of the transformer industry has declined.
